Auckland University of Technology is a university in New Zealand, formed on 1 January 2000 when a former technical college was granted university status. Entrance Requirements:
Auckland University of Technology Master Research Scholarships are offered to outstanding students at any NZ university, for study towards research in either a Masters or a Ph.D. degree in a wide range of disciplines, provided the research is in the broad fields of Humanities (i.e. the study of human culture, especially literature, languages, history, art, music, and philosophy) or Social Sciences (i.e. the scientific study of any aspect of social behaviour and/or the functioning of society). Candidates whose degree programmers do not appear to fit in these categories, but who feel that their research qualifies them, will be asked to justify this view in their applications. Research proposals that are focused on contemporary issues and are forward-looking, with an interdisciplinary aspect, may be preferred.
English Language Requirements:
Applicants whose first language is not English are usually required to provide evidence of proficiency in English at the higher level required by the University.

Those shortlisted for the interview will also be asked to provide a budget of proposed research expenses for the following year.Candidates will be notified of the results of their applications soon after the interviews.
